*** IMPORTANT MESSAGE - EMAIL SYSTEM CHANGES WILL OCCUR ON JULY 15TH AT 1:00a.m. ***
Dear Valued Customer: We at Plant Telecommunications thank you for your continued business. Throughout our long history, we have made every effort to bring the latest communication technologies to our customers with the best possible service. This message is to notify you of several upcoming and important changes to our Internet service. Effective July 15th, 2009, we will be making changes to the planttel.net email system and technical support services. Please read the following information carefully, and keep a copy of this email for future reference. 1. We will be converting to a new email system on July 15th, beginning at 1:00 am. This system change may result in service interruption for up to two hours.
Please verify or modify your email settings as follows:
Type of mail server: pop3 Incoming mail server: mail.planttel.net Outgoing mail server: smtp.planttel.net Your username and password will remain the same.
**Important note: While we do not expect you to experience connection problems, DSL customers may need to re-boot their modem on the morning of July 15th. If you have a DSL modem and you cannot connect to the internet, please attempt to re-boot your modem by powering down your computer, remove power to the modem, wait 5 minutes, and then plugging the modem back in. This will allow your modem to synchronize to the network and re-establish connectivity. Once the modem lights are green, power your computer back on. If this does not solve the problem, please contact tech support at 1-866-620-9439.
If your settings do not match, you may change them at any time to insure non-interrupted service. The following Web page has instructions on how to make this change in several email client programs: http://24hoursupport.com/planttel. If you need assistance with the change, you can contact Technical Support at 1-866-620-9439. We will not be moving stored mail from the old system to the new one. If you need to view any messages that were received prior to July 15th and not yet downloaded, you can do so by going to http://oldmail.planttel.net. This server will remain active for 30 days for the retrieval of old messages. For your protection, the new Webmail system includes an extra security step that requires you to type two, partially-obscured words to access your account. This is to prevent automated programs from accessing your account. While the words can be hard to read at times, the system is fairly forgiving. If you type what you think you see, you should have no problem logging in.
2. Each user will receive improved Spam and Virus protection at no additional charge. Suspicious messages will now be sent to a separate Message Center where you will be able to view any quarantined email. This new service is called emScan, and is very effective at blocking spam, viruses and phishing emails. You will also have the ability to control how aggressive the email filtering is, and to approve or block senders by their email address. You will be receiving a Welcome Email on the morning of July 15th that will provide more information about this new service and how to access your emScan Message Center. 3. We are also upgrading our Internet Support Services. Here is the new contact information for Technical Support, which becomes effective on July 15th. However, if you need assistance with the email setting change mentioned above, you can call this number at any time. New Internet Support Number: 1-866-620-9439 New Internet Support Email:
